driving from cataloochee to maggie valley, i spotted a tiny little mountain stream that had carved out a small clear spot from all the damp undisturbed, tangled undergrowth... and decided it would be worthwhile to chase.

no trail goes to it, so if you see this from the road (if you blink you'll miss it) be careful... it stays pretty wet and damp down there as i don't think sunlight ever really hits it.

Absolutely love this - Just went that way 2 weeks ago, and I at least managed to miss it!

Would you mind sharing a bit more on where it is - I definitely plan on making it back up there, and would love to try and find it!

awesome! thanks so much and sure! it was on the road that goes into cataloochee. honestly it wasn't a hiking point or anything it was just a tiny little fall i saw from mountain rain runoff... it was on the left off the paved road going into Cataloochee keep your eyes sharp and you will see it. PLEASE BE CAREFULL if you decide to go out to it - there is no trail and you cross over the gaurdrail to get to it and its so undisturbed back there moss grows on EVERYTHING and is super slick... other than that - have fun! :)

Ok i have to ask, how did you get the water to look like that? Its soo good

its all controlled through your shutter speed. since your camera (when taking a photo) can't record motion, the longer the shutter is open, anything in motion will just blur. :) sorry so late in reply, work has been crazy, but i'm making time to get back to my DA community. :D
