Description

Taken atop Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga TN... named so for its key position and panoramic views used in the "Battle Above the Clouds" during the Civil War...

Note to the park ranger:

Seeing as how major holidays are some of the only days that hard working citizens are able to enjoy themselves and the beautiful parks out city has provided us... please do not take it upon yourself to change the posted park hours. If the park is scheduled to open at 9am, please be there promptly at 9. I can even accept a few minutes after, for you could have decided to unlock the public restrooms first... Also, I do believe in financially supporting our parks upkeep and restorations and would like to apologize for hopping over the waist catcher and not inserting my $3.00. It was my only result seeing as how i was out of quarters from the parking meter that was "Strictly Enforced" for the hour you were late opening the gates to the park.

hugs and kisses,

After a look around your gallery, besides "Across the universe", I thought this was your best shot on the whole. The name implies reminiscence and the colors confirm it. The photo has an air of history and the composition is quite good with the cannon in sharp focus. The cannon points to the city and my eyes are constantly drawn to it in wonder of the view, but I never forget the looming cannon.

This shot would've benefited greatly from borders. Without them the cannon ends abruptly, while borders would give an effect of the cannon coming in from outside the shot. As it is, the photo seems truncated.

Also, thanks for the fave on Window!
